During a wedding, guests were expected to bring home wedding favors. Wedding favors are little things that are being distributed to all the guests to commemorate the said event. If you want favors that your guests will appreciate and partake of, why not plan for edible favors? Since then, edible favors can make any celebration more fun and memorable. Although these edibles can’t give tangible memory, but the fact that they were made delicious and very tasty gives reason for the guests to appreciate them. With this delightful idea, you can provide satisfaction to your guests’ who loves candies, chocolates, cookies, jams, wine, cupcakes and other edible preparations.
Sweet Edibles
For those who have sweet tooth, sweet edibles like chocolates, candies, mint, cookies, jams, cup cakes and pies are enough to make some mouth watery favors for them. You can make a penny candy cart where your guests can’t resist but to have some handful drop of childhood sweet favorites like button candies, jelly drops, gum drops, mints and mini chocolate bars. Or perhaps, you’d like to prepare favor boxes that are filled with the same edibles. You can find choices of favor boxes with different color, shape, style and design. With this idea in mind, you will not only satisfy their sweet tooth but you are giving very cute and clever memory of your wedding using these simple but delectable sweet edible favors.
You can also provide fruit or honey jams for your guests. You can make your own homemade jams, enhance their look by tying a perfect choice of ribbon, then put your personal label or tag with your wedding details and special message in each bottle. In addition to homemade wedding favors, you could also bake tasty cookies. Consider to distribute your own homemade favorite cookies packaged in adorable favor boxes with tied ribbons. However if you don’t have enough time for baking, you can always purchase cookies at your favorite local bakery shops.
Tea and Coffee Ideas
These ideas are perhaps one of the most favorite by adult guests. Just make sure you choose gourmet ones when you look for these favors and do not settle for instant varieties. After all, this doesn’t mean you’ll be spending too much that can build your own tea or coffee chain, rather prepare just enough – maybe a cup or two will nicely do. You can buy The Perfect Fit Tea Wedding Favors, a tea collection that allow your guests to enjoy a warm, relaxing cup of tea while reminiscing about your wedding. You can personalized them by scripting your own label with your wedding details. Or perhaps The Perfect Fit Coffee Favors which have the same theme with the earlier tea favors. Giving such souvenirs allow your guests to taste an exclusive blend of finest coffee with rich aroma of fresh roasted coffee. Make it then personalize by putting you and your partner’s name as well as your wedding date.
Edible favors are as elegant as silver favors that mostly used during formal and elegant weddings. Another good thing about edible souvenirs is that they are relatively inexpensive which can make an affordable option for those who have tight budget. Other non-edible but cheap favors can be candle favors, soap favors and others.

She is going to be 5 on the 15th, her thing right now is barbies, princess, anything super girly, I know I want bright pink frosting, any ideas or recipes for really good tasting pink frosting? any ideas as to where to get cupcake toppers from? thank you
A little girl I knew had jello-cake cupcakes for her 4th birthday, and I thought they were great! They were white cake with strawberry jello, and there was pink colored whipped topping (I think it was the strawberry flavored kind) and confetti on top.
To make things easy on yourself, use store bought frosting (it stands up better to constant playing with than home made) and then dye it pink if you want.
For my sons 5th birthday, I had a race car on each cupcake w/a checkered flag. Why not try putting a princes on each cupcake and making mini barbie/princes cakes? You can use store bought fondit and have the kids actually do the decorations…
Big craft stores like AC Moore and Michael’s have sections just for baking. They have awesome toppers and everything you need.
You could make butterfly cupcakes! Or like Princess cupcakes, where you stick a doll in an upside down cupcake and the cupcake becomes the doll’s skirt/dress.

You can get toppers from Walmart, Kroger any of the store bakeries…I have ask the store bakeries if I could buy some of the one they use in their cupcakes and usually they will give you some free…( which is always great…lol) For my youngest granddaughter’s birthday I made "princesses cupcakes" Check at a hobbies shop or even a cake supply store for the tiny doll picks ….then you bake your cupcakes like normal and put on a thin layer of icing first… next insert doll pick and using a decorating bag just add dots or stars around and around going up on the doll pick forming little dresses ….add sugar crystals or sprinkles they are really cute and your daughter would love them….Good Luck
Well my mom makes all sorts of cakes as a part time job. She makes really good icing. For ideas and decorations i would suggest AC Moore, Michaels, or a big party store.
This is the recipe….
Buttercream Icing
(Medium Consistency)
Ingredients:
* 1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
* 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
* 1 teaspoon Clear Vanilla Extract
* 4 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar (approx. 1 lb.)
* 2 tablespoons milk
In large bowl, cream shortening and butter with electric mixer. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Keep bowl covered with a damp cloth until ready to use. For best results, keep icing bowl in refrigerator when not in use. Refrigerated in an airtight container, this icing can be stored 2 weeks. Rewhip before using.
YIELD: Makes about 3 cups.
For thin (spreading) consistency icing, add 2 tablespoons light corn syrup, water or milk.
For Pure White Icing (stiff consistency), omit butter; substitute an additional 1/2 cup shortening for butter and 1/2 teaspoon No-Color Butter Flavor. Add up to 4 tablespoons light corn syrup, water or milk to thin for icing cakes.
ENJOY!!!
Mix this into buttercream frosting (package from the store)
INGREDIENTS
1 cup sifted confectioners’ sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon water
2 drops red food coloring
DIRECTIONS
Blend sugar, salt and flavoring. Add just enough water to make it easy to spread. Add 2 drops red food coloring and mix well
Buttercream icing is an excellent choice with pink food coloring. Buttercream icing has the following ingredients:
icing sugar
milk
butter
egg white
vanilla extract (just a little)
The butter makes it buttercream but turns the icing yellow. If this happens use more icing sugar but that will make the icing sweet. The milk is there to mix everything together and the eggwhite is to make the icing hard. Use an electric hand mixer to mix it all together.
This isn’t an exact recipe for buttercream but a guide line to follow
Wilton has some cute ideas.
